About The North Side
The North Side can be broken up into two regions, the Northwest and the Northeast. The northwest part of Spokane contains neighborhoods like Indian Trail and Five Mile which are known for newer homes and spectacular views of the city. Northwest also includes up-and-coming neighborhoods like West Central with many older homes being purchased by investors. Emerson-Garfield features small bungalows and ranchers on streets with sidewalks. The Garland neighborhood has many mid-century ranchers and is also home to the historic Garland Theater that’s been featuring movies since 1945. The entire Garland District is a fun and quirky business area with cool bars, notable restaurants, and funky shops.
The Northeast side is where you’ll find the renowned Gonzaga University, home of the Bulldogs. The men’s and women’s basketball teams are the defending WCC champs and have earned spots in the NCAA Tournament for years. Go Zags! Keep heading north and you’ll find the neighborhood of Hillyard, known for smaller homes that are popular with investors and first-time home buyers. Hillyard is Spokane’s oldest neighborhood with homes dating back to the early 1900s. You’ll find antique stores and funky shops in the business district.
There’s a lot to see and do on the North Side. With such diverse neighborhoods, it’s important to work with a Realtor who knows the area well and can help you find the right fit for you and your family. Give me a call today and we’ll start your search!
