About Manito Park

One of the magnificent gems of Spokane is Manito Park. This beloved park was established in 1904 and features several botanical gardens, a conservatory, playgrounds, a pond, and much more. The nearly 100-acre park was once the site of a zoo and a dance hall. Today, the park’s gardens like the classic European-style Duncan Garden, or the Japanese Garden, capture the imagination of visitors from around the world.

Many homes are part of the Manito neighborhood. You’ll find historic homes lining Manito Boulevard with its iconic tree-lined park scape. But the neighborhood branches out covering several city blocks with homes ranging from small bungalows to sprawling mansions. Additionally, the area is known for quality schools within the Spokane Public Schools District.

Within the Manito area, you can walk to places like The Park Bench, a seasonal spot inside the park that serves food and hosts live music during the summer. A few blocks away, the neighborhood’s favorite stop for ice cream is The Scoop. The ice cream shop is a local gathering spot featuring hand-crafted concoctions and treats.
